Do I need to "reserve" a spot to run with the bulls?
This is one of the most common questions we get when people want to know about running with the bulls. Do you need to apply or go through some formal process in order to run at 8 a.m. with the bulls? NO.
In order to run in the morning, all you need to do is show up. We advise showing up early, however, in order to get your spot. Furthermore, be sure to stay close to the Town Hall (the main gathering area) and don't get pushed too far up the course.away. In 2007, too many people ended up trying to run on a couple mornings and the police just forced out the people who'd move up too much.
It helps to be sober when running, and you're not permitted to wear open toed shoes or carry anything (i.e. backpacks). You can be as gutsy as you'd like when running, choosing to stay out front and avoid the bulls (although looked upon as pretty cowardly in the eyes of the locals) or hang back a bit and try to get as close to the bulls as you can.
Search the site for plenty more tips on running. And we go through an orientation as well during our tours and give all clients some useful tips in case they want to run.
